St. Anthony’s friars pray for those who are sick and suffering

‘The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.’

Saint Anthony is the Saint of Miracles, and those who are sick lovingly place their trust in his intercession.

If, among your family members or your friends, there is someone who is sick you may send us their names: on 11 February, World Day of Prayer for the Sick, we friars will pray for their healing.

Two holy relics of Saint Anthony of Padua will visit the Diocese of Savannah, Georgia, from Friday, February 22 to Sunday, March 3. The Bishop of Savannah Gregory Hartmayer OFM Conv. has invited Father Bortolino Maistrello, a friar of the Basilica, to bring two holy and precious relics of Saint Anthony of Padua to his Diocese in Georgia.

Heartfelt wishes to all the friends of the Great Family of Saint Anthony. Through St. Anthony we enter into the deep mystery of Christmas: that small child the Saint holds in his arms is the gift that God makes to “those he loves”.

It is a moving thing to behold this ‘gaze’ of God on all of us, a God who has not come to condemn or frighten us, but to remind us of just how much we are loved, sought after and desired by him.

Two holy relics of Saint Anthony of Padua will visit the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami, Florida from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 9.

Father Mario Conte, a Friar from the Basilica in Padua, will bring two first-class relics of the beloved Saint Anthony of Padua to the Sunshine State. The relics will visit numerous churches in the diocese’s ecclesiastic territory of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties in South Florida.

This coming November from 4 to 11 two holy relics of Saint Anthony of Padua will visit the diocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. Father Alessandro Ratti, a friar from the Basilica in Padua, will bring two firstclass relics of the beloved Saint to Nova Scotia.
The relics will visit churches in Amherst, Antigonish, Berwick, Bridgewater, Dartmouth, Enfield, Halifax and Truro.

This coming October from 4 to 14 Fr. Mario Conte, executive editor of the «Messenger of Saint Anthony» magazine, will bring to the United States of America two precious relics of our Saint from the Basilica in Padua. One of these reliquaries contains the Saint’s floating rib.

This is the very same reliquary that was used by then-Archbishop Bergoglio to bless the faithful after the Solemn Mass at the Catedral Metropolitana in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 30 April 2000.
