Palm Sunday, this coming 13 April, is the door to Holy Week. This door will lead us to an experience of our Lord’s Easter. Below is the calendar of the religious celebrations held in our Basilica. All the 6.00pm Holy Masses, the 11.00am ones on week days, the Holy Saturday Easter Vigil Mass at 9.00pm and the 10.00am Easter Sunday Mass will be streamed live via web and social media on our various online platforms (see footnote below).
The Community of the Friars of the Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua, Italy, wishes a blessed and holy Easter to all of the Saint’s devotees!
PALM SUNDAY – 13 APRIL
10.45am Blessing of Palms in the square facing the Basilica, with procession back into the shrine, followed by the 11.00am* Holy Mass
MONDAY, TUESDAY AND HOLY WEDNESDAY
6.00pm H. Mass. Exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the end of the celebration
7.30pm Vesper songs and Eucharistic blessing
HOLY THURSDAY – 17 APRIL
7.00am Office of Readings and Morning Lauds
6.00pm* “in Cœna Domini” Holy Mass with procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Chapel of Repose
The Basilica will remain open for prayer until midnight
GOOD FRIDAY – 18 APRIL
7.00am Office of Readings and Morning Lauds
3.00pm Via Crucis
6.00pm Celebration of Our Lord’s Passion
HOLY SATURDAY – 19 APRIL
7.00am Office of Readings and Morning Lauds
9.00pm* Solemn Easter Vigil Mass
EASTER SUNDAY – 20 APRIL
Holy Masses: 6.30 - 8.00 - 9.00 - 10.00 - 11.00 - 12.15 - 16.00 - 17.00 - 18.00. In particular:
10.00am Holy Mass for the great family of St. Anthony and members of the Messenger of Saint Anthony
11.00am* and 6.00pm* Solemn Holy Mass
EASTER MONDAY – 21 APRIL
Holy Masses according to Sunday times. Holy Masses: 6.30 - 8.00 - 9.00 - 10.00 - 11.00 - 12.15 - 16.00 - 17.00 - 18.00
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY – 27 APRIL
Holy Masses: 6.30 - 8.00 - 9.00 - 10.00 - 11.00 - 12.15 - 16.00 - 17.00 - 18.00
11.00am* and 6.00pm Solemn Holy Mass
* The Solemn Holy Masses marked with an asterisk are sung by the St. Anthony Music Chapel
