8th Tuesday: Disabled

13 Tuesdays Novena, May 7th 2024 by fr. Mario Conte

St. Anthony's life and teachings emphasize the inherent dignity of every person, regardless of their physical or mental capabilities. His example particularly encourages us to a more inclusive and compassionate approach to people with impairments.

In one of his Sermons he writes, “Man was made in the image and likeness of God. Each one of us is worth what he is in the eyes of God, and certainly not for what he possesses in terms of material goods or physical attributes.”

Let us pray to our beloved Saint: "Dear St Anthony, today we dedicate this prayer to all those who are disabled in mind and body. Look after them as only a parent can do; give them the energy and strength to bear their difficulties, and give us the love that enables us always to welcome them as you always did. Amen."
