This is the schedule of liturgical celebrations during Christmas and the New Year at the Basilica of St Anthony in Padua, Italy, which may be followed live by connecting to our web page. In this way we are bringing St Anthony’s voice directly to the houses of those devotees (in Italy and throughout the world) who cannot come to Padua.

24 December – Christmas Eve

  • Midnight: Christmas Eve Midnight Mass presided over by Fr. Oliviero Svanera, OFM Conv., Rector of the Basilica of St. Anthony

25 December – Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ

  • 10:00am: Holy Mass concelebrated by the friars of the ‘Messenger of Saint Anthony’ for all the readers and members of St Anthony’s family
  • 11:00am: Solemn Holy Mass
  • 5:00pm: Sung Holy Mass

31 December – St Sylvester’s Day

  • 5:00pm: Solemn Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Oliviero Svanera, OFM Conv.; Rector of the Basilica of St. Anthony

1 January 2020 – Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

  • 11:00am: Holy Mass
  • 5:00pm: Solemn Holy Mass during which the traditional ‘Veni Creator’ will be sung to invoke the Holy Spirit on the New Year. The celebration will be animated by St Anthony’s Music Chapel School

6 January 2020 – Epiphany of the Lord

  • 11:00am: Solemn Holy Mass
  • 5:00pm: Sung Holy Mass
