November 30-December 9, 2018 Saint Anthony's Relics visit Miami, Florida

From Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 9 Fr. Mario Conte, executive editor of the «Messenger of Saint Anthony» magazine, will bring to the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami, Florida two precious relics of our Saint from the Basilica in Padua.

Two holy relics of Saint Anthony of Padua will visit the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami, Florida from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 9.

Father Mario Conte, a Friar from the Basilica in Padua, will bring two first-class relics of the beloved Saint Anthony of Padua to the Sunshine State. The relics will visit numerous churches in the diocese’s ecclesiastic territory of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties in South Florida.

One reliquary contains layers of skin of Saint Anthony’s cheek and the second reliquary contains a fragment of the Saint’s Floating Ribs. The Floating Rib relic has special meaning because it was received in the Cathedral of Buenos Aires by the then-Archbishop of Jorge Maria Bergoglio (now Pope Francis) in the year 2000. This same relic was also venerated by Sister Lucia of Fatima in her convent in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1995, for the 800th anniversary of Saint Anthony’s birth.
